Permanent Full- Time Based in Perth Airport, WA Salary $ 85K – 90K SGS is seeking a full time Team Leader to join the team in Perth Airport, WA • With minimal supervision and a degree of independence, initiative and judgment, undertake routine preparation and analysis for environmental samples. • Provide technical leadership and identify opportunities for obtaining optimum efficiency and productivity. • Ensure results are delivered on time within agreed KPI’s to the client. • Monitor and report on the progress of work performed. • Ensure the quality of data produced meets the standards of SGS’ quality policy, certification and stated data quality objectives. • Devise and perform developmental and validation work with new analytical methods and instrumentation to a level required to achieve NATA accreditation. • Understand and promote SGS’ quality management system and ensure the laboratory QA/QC criteria and NATA accreditation requirements are continuously being met. • Ensure equipment and laboratory is kept clean to avoid contamination and protect the company’s assets • Maintain and update skills, qualifications and knowledge through courses and on the job training to support improvement. • Assist management in promoting a safe working environment at all times. • Perform other duties required to ensure the smooth running of the section and to ensure the expected outputs are performed within budget. • Assist in training and further developing staff. • Participate in the promotion of SGS’ services and assist management with recommendations on technical matters where necessary. • Assist with projects nationally if required. • Perform other duties as directed by the Laboratory Manager. • Responsible for managing a team to ensure performance outcomes are aligned with business goals. • At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct. Education • BSc and postgraduate diploma in relevant science field or equivalent industry experience. Experience • Demonstrable commercial environmental laboratory experience. • Previous NATA signatory or delegated NATA signatory status. • Previous supervisory experience desirable.
