Description

The Operation Training Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving structured training programs that enhance operational competency across manufacturing operations. This role ensures employees are trained to meet quality, safety, productivity, and regulatory standards while supporting business objectives. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, implement, and deliver structured training programs through classroom, On-the-Job Training (OJT), and blended learning methods to build operator competency and support operational excellence. Facilitate new hire orientation for CW, onboarding, role-specific certification, cross-functional training, and annual plant-wide competency recertification programs. Develop, standardize, and continuously improve training materials, work instructions, competency assessments, and certification criteria to ensure consistent knowledge transfer across manufacturing operations. Maintain and control all operational training documentation, including training matrices, records, certification databases, ROA, EIA, HIDRAC, and other training-related documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Ensure all training activities comply with company policies, Quality Management Systems (ISO), EHS requirements, customer standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. Support New Product Introduction (NPI), new equipment implementation, process transfers, and engineering changes by planning, updating, and deploying training content through Agile, mOCN, and other document control systems. Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through competency assessments, audits, performance metrics, and operator feedback, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvements where required. Partner with Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, EHS, and Human Resources to identify competency gaps, develop workforce capability, and align training initiatives with business objectives. Coach, mentor, and monitor Buddy Trainers and operators to ensure effective onboarding, skill development, adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and sustained operational performance. Drive standardization of training systems, certification processes, learning materials, and competency frameworks across manufacturing operations. Support internal and external audits, maintain training compliance, monitor training KPIs, and perform additional duties or special projects assigned to achieve departmental and organizational objectives. Required : Bachelor's degree in engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics) or related discipline. Minimum 2–3 years of experience in manufacturing operations, production, technical training, or learning and development within a manufacturing environment. Preferred : Experience in developing and delivering structured training programs, competency assessments, operator certification, and onboarding initiatives. Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality management systems (ISO), EHS requirements, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement (CI), 5S/6S, and risk assessment practices. Skills : Strong presentation, facilitation, coaching, mentoring, and communication skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
