About the Role We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Export Control Officer to join our Export Control Compliance Organisation supporting Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland. This is a development role designed for individuals with a background in compliance, legal, audit, governance, risk management, regulatory affairs, due diligence, or business law who are looking to build a specialist career in international trade compliance and export controls. Reporting to the Export Control Officer Country Lead, you will support the delivery of export control and sanctions compliance activities across the business while undertaking a structured professional development programme. Previous export control experience is not required, as comprehensive training, mentoring, and study support will be provided. Key Responsibilities Working as part of a global Export Control Compliance team, you will: Support the review and assessment of export control, sanctions, and regulatory compliance matters across the business. Assist with customer, supplier, distributor, and third-party due diligence, screening, and compliance reviews. Support risk assessments relating to end use, end user, sanctions, diversion, and other export control compliance risks. Maintain compliance records and evidence, including End User Certificates (EUCs), due diligence files, screening results, approvals, and audit documentation. Support the review of commercial agreements and contractual provisions to ensure appropriate export control, sanctions, and compliance safeguards are incorporated. Assist in the interpretation and application of legal and regulatory requirements, providing support to business stakeholders on compliance-related matters. Support internal compliance investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action activities relating to potential regulatory or policy breaches. Participate in compliance monitoring, internal audits, control testing, risk assessments, and remediation programmes. Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance policies, procedures, standards, guidance documents, and training materials. Monitor legal and regulatory developments and support assessments of their potential impact on business operations and compliance obligations. Prepare compliance reports, management briefings, risk assessments, due diligence summaries, and recommendations for senior management. Liaise with legal, compliance, procurement, logistics, engineering, finance, and commercial stakeholders to support compliance and governance activities. Support the review of export control and sanctions clauses within commercial agreements, assisting with contractual risk assessments and the implementation of appropriate compliance safeguards. Assist with regulatory enquiries, compliance reviews, and responses to internal and external audit requests. Support regional and global export control, sanctions, compliance, and governance initiatives. Education A minimum of a 2:1 Bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) in one of the following disciplines: Law Business Law Compliance Governance Risk Management Regulatory Affairs International Business Or another relevant discipline Experience Experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable: Compliance and Ethics Internal Audit Legal Services Corporate Governance…
