Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our small and dynamic team at the pilot plant. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the scale-up of innovative technologies within a leading global company. You will be directly involved in projects focused on enhancing our production processes through improved inline viscosity measurement and the optimization of inline mixing of thickening agents. This internship is scheduled to start on 01.03.2027 for a duration of minimum 6 months . The role requires a minimum commitment of 5 days per week . This role is fully on-site and the location is our Pilot Plant in Leiden, with regular workdays at our European Headquarters in Oegstgeest . Key Responsibilities Execute trials on pilot-scale equipment to identify technical constraints and optimize the performance of multilayer coating setups. Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data using statistical methodologies. Support new product development by aligning process capabilities with product functionality and performance requirements. Establish methods for evaluating layer thickness and homogeneity. Perform analytical testing techniques, such as confocal Raman spectroscopy or SEM (preferred). Required : Currently enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides). Competence in working with statistical software like Minitab or SPSS (preferred). Skills you need to succeed: Strong interest in process technology, fluid mechanics, and measurement techniques. Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills to connect with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
